Design Management
-
The world of retail home decor has changed in the last 10 years. Now clients expect junior designers to sell furniture and help make sure that what they buy, fits.
But, this can cause challenges in the dynamic on the sales floor with non designers, support staff and of course leadership. Through integration and connection work with Libby to iron out kinks in the team, processes and of course, identify areas of opportunity to level up your team.
Having worked hand in hand with the Senior Toronto designer of Restoration Hardware and as a liason with the leadership team in two galleries while acting as the project coordinator, Elizabeth learned the fine art of balance between respecting and integrating the needs of a retail business with those of a design firm.
Meeting with leadership to understand their concerns as well as their excitement within the business. Discuss integration and what is and is not working. The goal is for everyone to feel communication and a connected team.
Training for the designers on your team from junior to senior in supporting them to understand their role and find the fulfillment they may crave in your environment.
Develop key systems and processes to streamline challenging processes for your team.
Work with sales and support staff to integrate and learn through the designers.

Design and Architecture Firms
Rug Training - Material & Customization
-
The A&D Community relies heavily on product sales reps for training. But, are they really the experts in the materials and manufacture that they say?
Sometimes yes, sometimes its someone who has been trained by that company.
Get a true training experience for your team to ensure that they know what they need to in order to deliver high the product you need and have it delivered for your client. Because client trust hinges on the delivery of product.
Area rugs can be a huge revenue earner for your design or architecture firm. But, if not done properly it can be a huge headache and money pit.

Decorative Arts & Material Training
-
I have worked as a decorator for the past few years. But before decorating I worked as a sales rep and custom rug specialist. I know first hand how overwhelming it can be for Interior Designers, Architects & Decorators to jump into the world of decorative arts. As someone with a Bachelor of Design in Material Arts & Design I have learned about the materials that we use for our interiors from the base material through production method.
With proper education your team can develop the skills to understand how these items that are being sourced are made. They will learn why certain materials are better than others, and learn to identify true craftsmanship over machine made.
A better educated team means ones that makes better long term choices for your business and your clients.

Decorative Arts & Material Curation
-
We’ve all been there, a design just isn’t coming together and you need something to shift.
Or
You just don’t want to rely only on suppliers, you want someone who is going to bring you new ideas that is not afiliated with one brand, but just great ones that are fabulous. It’s hard to find new and amazing product when running a business and you want someone who will bring you cool stuff because it’s cool!
I work one-on-one with dynamic and creative teams to inspire and work to bring a good design to the next level.
Often the missing link is a cohesive and common thread throughout the design, or that perfect thing that brings it all together.
Let me work with you to create the project of your and your clients dreams.
-
Tell us about yourself/who will be enjoying the space
Send your new and existing furniture selections
Send any finishes or fixtures such as lighting, fabrics, window plans, etc.
